Our Oxford Farmers' Market in the time of COVID-19

Local agricultural and small-scale home industries are now more important than ever.

An essential part of staying healthy during this COVID-19 pandemic involves eating healthy foods. We are very fortunate to have so many suppliers of good healthy food right here in our area. Until we can be back out on Lafayette Park, we have created a page on this website of Market Vendors & Local Eateries  that are still open for business. Please email us with any food vendors or eateries that are missing from this list! We need to show all our local producers and eateries all the love we can at this time!

Farmers’ markets are considered by NY State to be essential retail businesses, providing healthy food for communities. As such, farmers’ markets are exempt from the mass gatherings restrictions. But in order to maintain that designation as an exempt operation, we must meet the following requirements for the duration of the Statewide PAUSE. These requirements are meant to maintain outlets for healthy local foods, while safeguarding farmers, consumers, and communities from the spread of COVID-19:
      • No forms of entertainment.
      • No cooking demonstrations or sampling.
      • No craft or non-food vendors, except for soap or hand sanitizer.
      • Vendors must be spaced apart as much as possible.
      • Minimize amount of food on display with customer access.
      • Increase the number of handwashing stations and make hand sanitizer available.
      • Manage customer traffic within the market to eliminate congregating.

      • Promote social distancing (i.e., maintaining distance of at least 6ft between customers).

What this all means for the Summer Oxford Farmers' Market: For the duration of this period of mandatory physical distancing, the Oxford Farmers' Market will have to look and feel very different than it has in the past. We will need your help to maintain the Market a safe source for essential products!  Together, as a community, we will work together to support our local producers, keep each other connected and healthy, and reduce the spread of COVID-19.

We also now have a  Resources  page on this website that we will work to keep updated as information becomes available. Please email us with any additional information you would like to see shared on that page.

We are resilient and we will get through this.

We are wishing every one of you well.

Please stay in touch and let us know how you are

With love from all of us!!!
